Wutian Wu, graduated from Sun Yat-Sun University Medical Sciences in 1975, obtained MS degree from the same University in 1981 and PhD degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Virginia, USA in 1991. Since 1996, Dr Wu has been working as assistant professor to professor in the Department of Anatomy, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on neuronal injury and axonal regeneration. He has received over 30 research grants including two 973 project where he served as group leader. Dr Wu has published over 100 peer review papers in international journals such as Nature Medicine, Nature Methods, PNAS, Development, Exp Neurol, Brain Res, J Neurotraumwhich and received good citation. He was invited to prepare a chapter for a volume in the series Handbook of Chemical Neuroanatomy (the topic of this volume is “Functional Neuroanatomy of the Nitric Oxide System”). Authors of this series Handbook are experts in the field and have been carefully selected from the renowned scientific centers throughout the world. Eleven authors were selected to prepare the volume of the Handbook. These authors are internationally recognized in the field of nitric oxide research. Among them is Dr. L.J.Ignarro who was the Winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
